A huge flock of flamingos appear as silhouettes flying in front of a serene sunset which turned the evening sky bright orange.

The usually pink birds lost their colour as they arrived in the Gujarat region in India, where they are now a resident species.

Photographer Hemin Patel, 45, said he loved the composition of the pictures, and the clarity of the birds' outlines clearly marked by the contrasting colours.
