An amateur photographer captured a fantastic bird's-eye view of a lively gannet flying over a flock resting below. The energetic bird spreads its wings as it shoots past the other gannets scattered on the ground beneath it.

Jacques-Andre Dupont, 51, spent three days photographing northern gannets on Bonaventure Island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Canada. He was keen to take pictures of the birds on the island as it is home of a very large colony of 40,000 gannet couples.
