A relaxed polar bear is not fussed by the camera - as he sticks out his blue tongue. The adult male was in fact yawning as he rested in the sun on Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean.

The male polar bear, who can weigh up to 720kg, looks like he is posing for the camera as he closes his eyes and sticks out his tongue. Wildlife photographer Staffan Widstrand, 56, of Stockholm, Sweden, was in a rubber inflatable boat when he spotted the polar bear.
