These dedicated farmers brave the rain to scale this stunning mountain as they harvest rice and corn to feed their villages. The native Hmong workers cover an exhausting 2,200 hectares of slippery land to gather crops from these striking terraced rice fields.

They carry up to 50kg of plants on their backs at a time - nearly their own body weight - before smashing the plants to separate the grains. The colourful labourers, who usually eat just twice a day, keep their energy levels high with three daily meals during the tiring harvest season.

There is also a wooden hut on the mountain in Mu Cang Chai, north west of Hanoi, Vietnam, where they can pause for a break and refreshments. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
