A racing car driver narrowly escaped death in a horrific 143mph crash - but was miraculously left with no injuries and even got behind the wheel the next day. A strong cross-wind caused Dean Stoneman to lose control of the car whilst travelling at the staggering speed and smash into a wall.

The vehicle crashed into another barrier and span down the track, becoming engulfed in flames in the process and causing it to smash into more than 200 pieces. Dean, from Bishop's Waltham, Hants, was testing his Red Bull car, which can reach speeds of 180mph, on the opening day of the Formula Renault 3.5 testing session in Jerez, Southern Spain.
