Pictured: The hedgehog amoungst leaves at a rescue centre in Suffolk.

This adorable hedgehog, curled up in a ball and snuggled in a bed of autumn leaves, is one of many staying at a UK rescue centre. The sleepy-looking creature should already be hibernating, but is still awake due to the unusually warm weather this year.

With somewhere safe to stay over winter, she is one of the lucky ones - hedgehogs are now listed as an endangered species, with experts believing that they may become extinct in 10 years time. Rescue centres like this one in Suffolk try their best best to help poorly hedgehogs who find themselves in a prickly situation by taking them in and nursing them back to health.
