These thrill seeking surfers seem oblivious to the huge ship looming behind them as they venture through barrel waves - just metres off its bow. It may appear the waves are not the only things about to crash as the men fearlessly navigate the ocean directly in the boat's pathway.
But in fact the talented water sportsmen are in no imminent danger from the emerging steel vessel - as it is actually a shipwreck. The coconut oil carrier had been travelling to Jayapura in Papua, Indonesia, when it was washed off course during a violent thunderstorm. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
