Thousands of sardines swim for their life as they circle a hungry shark who is looking forward to a tasty lunch. Starving sharks, dolphins, cape gannets and whales can be seen queuing up before pouncing on the huge school of fish that zooms past.
The fish are taking part in their annul commute along the South African coastline - an event known as the 'sardine run'. Photographer Mark van Coller, from Cape Town, South Africa, travelled to Port St Johns to witness the spectacular event. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
