These pictures make it look as though you could be star gazing on some far off planet - but they were actually taken on the Isle of Wight. A combination of the stars' light and a lack of light pollution causes a huge variety of colours to seep through the night sky and makes the stars look incredibly bright.
In one photo, the moon is so dazzling that it looks like the sun. Chad Powell captured the images of the sky above Britain and even managed to photograph our own galaxy, the Milky Way. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
