A barman who spent a gruelling five hours every day practising dazzling bartending tricks and incredible drink flairing has been crowned the nation's best cocktail maker. Russ Ward, 33, spent a staggering 585 hours perfecting his cocktail flairing and remembering over 500 recipes since May just so he could perfect his final routine.
He claimed top spot last night at the final of the TGI Friday's UK Bartender Championship by pulling off a spectacular routine of bottle spins, flicks and tricks. Bartender Russ shrugged off seven other master barmen and took gold for the fourth year running. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
