This Saunders-Roe SR.A-1 is the last remaining version of the plane, with only three prototypes ever being made. It is being stored on display at the Solent Sky museum. The plane never saw any military use, due to the fact that is was deemed inferior to land-based designs.

This Saunders-Roe SR.A-1 is the last remaining version of the plane, with only three prototypes ever being made. It is being stored on display at the Solent Sky museum. The plane never saw any military use, due to the fact that is was deemed inferior to land-based designs.

The volunteers at Solent Sky have been hard at work getting the museum ready for attendees, as they prepare to open next month. Under the government guidelines in place after lockdown ends on 2nd December, and Southampton will enter tier 2 restirctions. This will allow museums like Solent Sky to reopen to the public.
