A flying fish has a lucky escape as it evades the beak of a bird by Richard Lovelock

A bird chases a flying fish that is 'spooked' out of the water by a passing ship. The flying fish manages to get away from the predator - a brown booby which was following the vessel and poised to pounce on its prey.<br />

Professional photographer Richard Thomas Lovelock took these pictures on Cunard Cruise ship the Queen Elizabeth sailing from Singapore to Tokyo.  Discussing the pictures, he said: "A flying fish has been spooked under the water by the approaching ship.  SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.<br />
