Bears catching fish at falls in Alaska by Simon Roberts

These bears catch salmon as they leap out of the air while swimming upstream in Alaska.  The expert hunters were plucked them out of the air to feed on as the fish tried to clear a small waterfall in the fast flowing river.<br />

The scene was captured by amateur photographer Simon Roberts at Katmai National Park, Alaska.  The 60 year old, from Cumbria, said: "There were 'negotiations' about the pecking order of bears standing in prime position on the lip of the fall.
