As we approach the one year anniversay since the UK went in to its first lockdown due to COVID-19, Salisbury cathedral has set up a lit candle feature as a sign of encouragement for the public. The feature, which used 1,000 candles in total, is meant to inspire hope as the government's plans for the UK to leave its third and final lockdown are implemented.
The temporary feature has been set up during a free day from its vaccination schedule, which has been taken place at the cathedral since 16th January. An estimated 1,000 daily vaccinations take place at Salisbury cathedral on three scheduled days a week, approaching 20,000 inoculations since the scheme began.
