Dame Emma Thompson has come to the aid of Jane Austen's former home by providing the voice to a new online Christmas experience.<br />
<br />
From today fans of the novelist can hear the actor - who won an Oscar for her screenplay for the 1995 film adaptation Sense and Sensibility - read from some of her books and letters.<br />
<br />
The 61 year old has recorded eight tracks for the Jane Austen House museum, which showcase her 'dry wit and enjoyment' of yuletide traditions.<br />
<br />
This week staff at the House in Chawton, Hants, have been putting up Christmas decorations in the hope that they will be able to reopen on December 3 if restrictions are eased, so visitors can enjoy the experience first hand.  SEE OUR COPY FOR FULL DETAILS.<br />
