The short-eared owl was snapped by a keen amateur photographer as it ruffled its feathers.<br /> <br /> Jack Branscombe, 27, said he had been 'desperate' to photograph this species of owl for months and finally got his wish on a gloomy day at an unnamed spot in Essex. He said: "I was over the moon to see my first short-eared owl and to get to photograph such a relaxed one was amazing.
