Local villagers carrying water are dwarfed by the size of sprawling sandbanks in golden morning sunlight in Pakokku City, Myanmar.
The images were captured by Aung Thu Ya, 37, a government officver from Myanmar in the dry intermonsoonal season season. Myanmar, has three seasons in a year, the cool, relatively dry northeast monsoon (late October to mid-February), the hot, dry intermonsoonal season (mid-February to mid-May), and the rainy southwest monsoon (mid-May to late October).
Aung said, "The sandbanks lie alongside the Ayeyarwady River. The waterway is a vital lifeline for Myanmar - it's the most commercial in the region, supplying fish to local people."

"In this dry season, villagers pass through the sandbanks when carrying water and accessing the boat terminal. The golden light occurs between 8 and 10am in the morning."
