The 42 year old said: “During harvesting season the farmers collect the pineapples from a field and transport them to the market either by bicycle, rickshaw, or electric rickshaw. The farmers usually carry about 100 pineapples by bike, or 200 by rickshaw.”<br />
<br />
“Wholesalers buy the pineapples from this market before they are transported around the country by truck or van. The wholesalers pay around 50 pence per fruit.”<br />
