Tourists ski on artificial snow on the bare slopes of the Swiss alps at a world famous resort. The Gstaad Ski Resort, in between the villages of Gstaad and Saanen, in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland, is a famous destination for skiers and snowboarders.
But this year, as record warm winters across Europe have caused resorts to close down, Gstaad skiers have had to put up with artificial snow. The mild winter has left the region mostly snowless, with snow-making machines and cannons having to blast the artificial snow over the ground. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
