"Vietnam is one of the largest rice producers and consumers in the whole world. Normally rice thrives in flooded areas mainly because it requires a continual water supply."
"For most Vietnamese farmers, Red River and Mekong Delta are their main sources of water for the growth of rice in lowland areas. However, farmers on the highlands must rely on mountain steps and high rainfall to grow rice.”
