Vibrant fabrics hang from the ceiling of a workshop in Tokat, Turkey, displaying a craft which has been traditional for 650 years.

Suleyman said, “On average, each of these workshops can produce 5000 shawls every day. Mainly, women use them for covering their heads, or as an accessory around their neck.”
