A brave egret catches insects near a cow, with its snatching beak moving dangerously close to the animal's eyes. The bird, unfazed by the cow's attempts to scare it off as it got too close, remained focused on catching its meal and was spotted waiting for the perfect moment before catching a fly in its beak.

Amateur photographer Richard Ford pictured the cattle egrets at the edge of Chichester Harbour, West Sussex.
