These remarkable looking creatures look like an armada of sailing boats as they float on the surface of the sea.

The creatures, called Velella, are a part of the porpitidae family, and travel by using thier unusually shapped bodies to catch the wind.

The pictures were taken by Marlene Perino, 21, in Corsica. Said said: 'They really look like an armada of ships, specially if seen from the level of the water surface'
