Tens of thousands of black and white birds sit in crowds on the narrow ledges of a steep cliff.

Around 60,000 breeding pairs of Brünnich’s guillemots gather on the hundred metre rocks which stretch for several kilometres.

The birds - also known as thick-billed murres - are excellent divers, and can reach incredible depths of up to 150 metres and remain underwater for up to four minutes.
