hepherds wash hundreds of buffalo in the colourful spring. The pictures were taken by Shafiul Islam on the Jamuna river, northern Bangladesh.
The 29 year old freelance photographer said “A lot of green grass grows in this spring. Shepherds will bring their buffaloes from across northern Bangladesh to this spot for them to graze and eat grass, usually from morning till noon and rest whilst they are bathed in river water.”
“Hundred big and small buffaloes can be seen in the pictures. They are indigenous breeds of buffaloes, which are reared in open fields only for milk. Each adult buffalo gives an average of 20-25 liters of milk per day.”
