Pictured: A hilltop resembles a floating island on a sea of fog. Crowned by a few pine trees, Colmer's Hill, near Bridport, Dorset, is the only land to rise above the fog for miles around.

Photographer Mark Andreas Jones captured the evocative shots of the 417ft high hill as the area was engulfed by mist and frost on Sunday morning. The 49 year old from Portsmouth, Hants, said: "This is the best cloud inversion I have ever seen at this location and, coupled with the beautiful sunrise, it made for a very special morning.
