A series of mesmerising close-up images of insects make them look like aliens. Photographer Marco Jongsma captured the macro shots of a range of bugs including a cuckoo wasp and a crab spider.
The pictures detail the intricate features and patterns of the insects - from the bulging yellow eyes of a tiger beetle to the delicate hairs on a honey bee. The 34-year-old used a macro lens and a microscope to picture the insects in a laboratory at his home in Lemmer, the Netherlands. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
