Liberty's Owl, Raptor & Reptile Centre are celebrating the arrival of a Verreaux Eagle Owl which has hatched at the centre. This is the first year that the centre in Ringwood, Hants, has had a Verreaux Eagle Owl hatch, after 20 years of having this breed of owl.
The 21 day old chick has arrived ahead of Liberty's re-opening to the public on Monday (12th April) as lockdown restrictions are eased. The owlet which is still having periods of being on heat had a few moments to enjoy spring, while sat amongst hyacinths and daffodils in the grass. Visitors will be able to see the Verreaux Eagle parents, with mum still currently sitting on eggs.
