A Labradoodle had to be rescued by firefighters today after falling down a well and getting stuck for more than 17 hours. Four year old Lily went missing while being walked by her female owner in woods near Eastleigh, Hants, at 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon. Her disappearance sparked a hunt that carried on until 2am and involved a social media appeal on Facebook.
When the search resumed this morning, a whimpering was heard coming from a deep brick-lined well in a wooded area within a few hundred metres if where she had gone missing. Lily was spotted 6ft down the well and a Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service animal rescue specialist was called. SEE OUR COPY FOR MORE.
