It looks like an ant trapped in amber from millions of years ago but this little insect is in fact caught in a raindrop. The weaver ant - which can inflict a painful bite - was caught out in the rain and became trapped inside the water droplet.
Student Roni Hendrawan said the trapped ant reminded her of fossilised specimens in amber. The tiny insect is on a taro leaf and Miss Hendrawan was in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, Southeast Asia, when she spotted it. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
