It looks like the French are giving Ladies' Day at Royal Ascot a run for their money.
Thousands of women flocked to Chantilly yesterday wearing their amazing headgear, wowing spectators with hats of all sizes, shapes and colours.
The elaborate designs included one woman's hat based on a peacock, with bright-coloured feathers stretching out wide above her head.
Other race-goers wore decorated hats with long thing feathers and mesh decorated with flowers, with one woman even wearing imitation leopard print on her head.
While regular race days are traditionally casual affairs, fans arrived looking 'tres elegant' in elaborate party hats and dresses - while men wore suits. SEE OUR COPY FOR MORE DETAILS.
