You really otter have moved out by now! A pair of otters have a squabble as the mother seems to be fed up of having to look after her adult son. This interaction was captured by Pete Walkden as part of his eurasian otter photography workshop in a tidal loch on the Isle of Mull, Scotland.
The tour guide said, “This arrangement of the mother with such an old cub is very unusual. Normally the offspring leave after 12 to 18 months, but this young male is still with her, and more surprisingly, she's still catching prey for him.”
“The cub should have left her by now, but he hasn't, is still being looked after by her, and dwarfs her. A lot of visitors see them and assume she's the cub, as she's so much smaller.”
