Fed up with the heatwave already? A group of hikers cooled down by climbing the Chamonix Glacier in the French Alps - and were snapped by a photographer who took a chair lift to the top. The stunning image shows remarkable patterns formed in the snow and ice as the walkers take advantage of the beautiful weather.
Large cracks have opened in the glacier, which is around 11,500ft above sea level, as some of the frozen ice begins to melt. Many climbers in the region typically try and summit Mont Blanc nearby which, at 15,777 ft, is the highest mountain in Europe. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
