Pictured: An adult barn swallow feeding an albino chick in flight.
A hungry albino barn swallow chick stretches its wings as it opens its bright yellow beak ready to be fed. The rare albino bird was born without any pigmentation or colouration resulting in its white feathers and red eyes.
The swallow had three chicks, two of which are albino - and one clever youngster used the fact he looked like his brother to get more food. In a bid to feed her hungry chicks as fast as possible, the swallow catches insects and drops them into her chick's beaks before flying off to find more food. Photographer Marcel van Kammen was in Wyns, a small village in the Friesland province, of The Netherlands, when he spotted the albino chicks. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
