A speedboat on a test run dramatically flipped over at the entrance to a marina today, injuring four people on board. The dramatic moment was captured on camera as the boat - a Vector Martini speed boat which can reach speeds of 110mph - struck a bouy and flipped over in the water.
Three men - two in their 50s and another in their 20s - have been injured and another in his teens was seriously hurt as emergency services rushed to the capsized boat, including a Coastguard helicopter.
They were transferred to the shore by lifeboat and are being taken to Southampton General Hospital, Hants, by ambulance. Eyewitness Daniel Ubertini, who was out taking photos of the speedboat, described the scene as he watched the craft flip near the entrance to Hamble Marina, Hants, at around 8am this morning.
The 66-year-old French national, who moved to the UK two months ago, said the driver had been testing around the Solent, travelling via the Isle of Wight and Southampton. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
