Getting sucked up. A dove has it's feathers "vacuumed" by an elephant bull's trunk. Wildlife photographer, Charl Maher, 58, from George, Western Cape, South Africa witnessed the moment at the Marion Baree waterhole in the Addo National park South Africa.

He said, "Birds to usually drink in the same area as other animals without issue, but in a moment this happened. In one moment the elephant was still drinking and the next moment it went for the bird."

"Its a man made water hole where animals drink daily The Cape Turtle Dove went for a drink and looks like it annoyed the African Elephant and it went for the dove"

"Elephants normal reaction is to blast water at other intruders, but this time it went for the bird as in grabbing it and pushing out the way. The bird seemed to have an injury so did not fly away as the elephant scooped it out of the way."
