Nine poodle-crosses that were found abandoned in such bad condition they looked liked muddy rags are now thriving a year on. Photographs of the eight puppies and their mother who were heartlessly dumped in Winchester, Hants, shocked the world.

The white dogs, which can be worth up to £500 each, were severely underweight with filthy brown coats and hair so matted and overgrown they couldn't see or stand properly. Harrowing pictures showed the animals lying on top of each other, looking like a bundle of brown rags. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.
