Men, women and children are surrounded by bright yellow grains of rice as they go to work at a rice processing plant in Barmanbaria, Bangladesh. The photos were taken by Badal Chandra Sarker from Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The 42-year-old said: “Each worker earns less than one pence per 1kg of paddy produced, with some workers earning up to £2.50 for the day. Rice produced here is sold all over Bangladesh, with the surplus being exported abroad.”
“One thing I noticed while taking the photographs is that business never seems to stop, every moment seemed busy.”
